Kit Expectations

All pupils are expected to bring appropriate kit to all PE lessons. They should pay careful attention to which activities they will be participating in.

Boys

  • PE Shirt: Plain navy blue polo top with collar and official logo.
  • Rugby shirt: Navy blue rugby shirt with collar and official logo.
  • Shorts: Navy blue shorts must be brought to all lessons.
  • Training trousers: Plain black/navy - the wearing of training trousers will depend on the activity and the weather conditions and will be at the teachers' discretion, unless students have a medical or religious reason for wearing them.
  • Socks: Blue football socks (outside winter lessons) / white ankle socks (inside lessons and outside summer lessons).
  • Footwear: Trainers (non-marking soles) suitable for sport with ankle support. NB: Plimsolls are not appropriate i.e. vans/converse. Football boots are advisable for winter lessons on the field, to prevent injury.
  • Other:
    • Navy or Black 'skin' tops can be worn in colder weather underneath PE kit.
    • Shin Pads are required.
    • Mouth Guard (optional but recommended).

Girls

  • PE Shirt: Plain navy blue polo top with collar and official logo.
  • Shorts: Navy blue - shorts must be brought to all lessons. In colder weather, girls may wear sports leggings underneath their shorts to keep warm. These are not to be brought instead of shorts.
  • Training trousers: Plain black/navy can only be worn by students who have medical or religious reasons to do so.
  • Fleece: Navy blue with official logo.
  • Socks: Blue football socks (outside winter lessons) / white ankle socks (inside lessons and outside summer lessons) depending on activity.

Pupils are made aware of the department’s expectations on kit at the start of each term/unit.

  • All pupils will also need a carrying bag for their PE kit and a plastic bag is recommended for carrying dirty boots / wet clothing
  • Except in the case of serious injury, all pupils are expected to come to PE lessons prepared to take part in some physical activity. If pupils have minor ailments they should bring a note from home explaining this and still bring their kit to take part appropriately.
  • Pupils who fail to bring appropriate PE kit for their lesson will be provided with clean BRIGHT ORANGE garments to ensure full participation in the lesson.
  • Pupils are aware that a missing kit marks results firstly, in a break time detention. This is for any incomplete kit (including incorrect socks) or for no kit. The second missing kit mark results in a lunch detention, the third a Friday detention with SLT and the fourth a Saturday detention with SLT.
