Y9 Netballers head for the U14 County Tournament!
The U14 Netball team got in their new shiny minibus and headed to Emmanuel School on a very cold November Tuesday, to put their skills to work against the best schools in the county.
As a new and evolving team, we knew this would be a difficult test for us but we showed-up and put in a valiant effort as we started to fit students in to more suitable playing positions and even found a space for our newest recruit; Millie Oakley!
The girls were an excellent representation of the school's motto by both working hard and being kind, but unfortunately it was the latter that was our undoing! We were definitely missing the aggression of Larysa Hayes in attack to balance that of Emily Clarkson-Webb in defence.
Great centre court performances from Molly Doran, Shannon Birkett, Millie Oakley and Emily Clarkson Webb. Polite and improving shooting performances by Sophie Noseley and Gaby Pennant (who's excellent captaincy won us every centre pass!) and an outstanding defence of Grace Arnell and Samantha Bray. Well done, ladies.
Here's to next year and continuing the war, now that the battle is over!
