We are having an increasing number of students being late for school this half term. All students have been reminded that our first bell rings at 8:28am. This allows for students to be ready in their classroom by 8:30am. Students are classed as late once the first bell has rung at 8:28am and are issued with a detention that same day.  Students who are late are missing vital information that sets them up for the day.  Please contact your child's tutor if you need support in ensuring that your child attends school on time.

Sextortion - advice for parents

All schools in the UK have recently been sent information from the National Crime Agency, raising awareness of the recent rise in reporting of financially motivated sexual extortion (a type of online blackmail often known in the media as ‘sextortion’). Children and young people worldwide are being targeted.

We sent you a letter this week to provide further information regarding this alert and how to support your child.  Please do contact Mrs Gray if you have any further questions.

A reminder that year 10 will be on work experience placements for Tuesday 21st May, Wednesday 22nd May, Thursday 23rd May.

The vast majority of students have found placements and are excited about what they will be doing.

Please can you ensure your child knows what to wear, the timings of the placement, lunch arrangements and where to go.  You may need to contact the placement to find this out.    During the placement, your child will be expected to fill out a booklet and have it signed off at the end by the employers.

Please talk to your child about excellent behaviour during the placement.  We want the young people to uphold the school values of Work hard, be kind and REACH (resilience, empathy, ambition, courage, honesty).  Students must not use their mobile phones unless necessary.

If your child does not have a placement, or only has a placement for some of the days, they will need to attend school.  We will put on a programme of lessons and activities and will be in touch with the parents of the students this affects.

Thank you for supporting work experience.  We hope your young person has an enjoyable and informative work experience placement.
