Dear Parents and Carers,
A busy, busy week for us all at Nottingham Free School. Mrs Clarke and Miss Burley supported students in completing their final GCSE practical exams, for Drama and Food Technology respectively. A successful visit from the Quality Assurance Team at Nova Education Trust. Last, but by no means least, a very successful residential visit to Walesby Activity Centre for seventy five Year 7s.
I will take this opportunity to thank Miss Harmer-Weston (Head of Year 7) for the exceptional planning and preparation of the visit to Walesby Activity Centre. Such a visit takes hours and hours of planning and paperwork and Miss Weston did so with care and confidence. Huge thanks also to all the staff that were involved with this visit (Mrs Doyle, Miss Bowles, Mr Fowler, Mr Lemin, Miss Richardson, Mr Coppack, Ms Marks, Mrs Bee, Mrs Gray, Mrs Farnie and Mr Tomasevic). The children were left with memories that will last a lifetime and they were so very grateful for the support and care from staff. Here are a couple of pictures of students and Mr Lemin being very brave while having a great time.
Lastly, I would like to congratulate those members of NFS staff that were recognised for their exceptional service to the students, staff and wider community at the Nova Education Trust Loyalty Award Evening. Here is a picture of Mrs Gray (+20 years), Mr Tomasevic (+15 years), Mrs Inglis (+15 years) and Mrs Farnie (+20 years) at the event. It was humbling to hear how our students and other staff value these lovely people. I am sure you join me in congratulating them, as well as Mrs Wilken (+15 years) and Mr Cleveley (+20 years).
I hope you find the following bulletin messages useful and have a great weekend.
Yours faithfully,
Dr J Simpson

- A number of students have been wearing white socks with their standard school uniform.
- This is NOT part the NFS uniform policy, which states students are to wear black socks.
- Students would be sanctioned with an R20, if they are found to be wearing white socks.
Thanks for your support here.
