Success at Cross Country Championships
On Wednesday the 16th of January, 15 students represented Nottingham Free School at the Cross Country Championships at Wollaton Hall. All students put in tremendous effort to run in wet and windy conditions.
The year 8/9 girls’ team placed 4th within their age category, with Ella Martin and Olivia Williams running in their debut race. Meanwhile the year 10/11 girls’ team secured first placed with Shannon Birkett, Molly Doran and Sophie Wyeld qualifying to represent the city in the next round, on February 2nd.
The year 8/9 boys’ team also had success with a top 3 finish, narrowly missing out on 2nd place by 6 points. A special mention to Lucas Harrison who has also qualified for the city team. Unfortunately the year 10/11 boys didn’t have a full team, however, there were brilliant individual performances from Peter Kerr, Max Truman and Sam East; with Sam East qualifying for the city team.
