Science club
This half term, KS3 science club have been building and erupting volcanoes.
First we looked at the different types of volcanoes to inspire our design, then we looked at the materials we could use to get the correct shape.
Pupils then spent time crafting the volcanoes from chicken wire and paper mache to create a platform inside for a beaker to stand on. Then pupils carefully decorated them to look realistic.
Finally we experimented with different combinations of bicarbonate of soda, vinegar and food colouring before using the final proportions to erupt our volcanoes.
A great effort from all involved - well done!
